Original Question:

I'm looking for a municipal infrastructure symbolset containing symbols
for telephones, water spigots, fire hydrants, and the like. I've checked
the Unofficial Arc/Info and Arcview Symbol Page
(http://www.mapsymbols.com/ <http://www.mapsymbols.com/> ) without luck.
Surely someone has developed something along these lines? We have $$$$
(maybe not that many, but a few).

Thanks to Dorothy Luckie, Jamie Miller, Bob Plummer, and Denis Roose who
offered a number of suggestions including using symbolsets from ArcView
3.2 or additional ones provided with ArcView 8.1, or creating custom
symbols with Macromedia's Fontographer.

Jim Mossman offered to provide a cost estimate for his company to
develop custom symbols.

Susan Beyers kindly offered to fax a printout of symbols her
organization has created for utility networks.

However, the original question was based on a misunderstanding. I
thought we needed a symbolset with the desired symbols, but learned from
Jim Barry at ESRI Tech Support that we can use bitmap icons to produce
the symbols we want in MapObjects.
